Joined by a umbilical cord to the mainland, the place which raised poets and artists exudes a cosy inland atmosphere as well as cosmopolitan island flavours, and boasts some of the nicest beaches in Greece. It all started in the 60's, when Onassis discovered the island and bought Skorpios, a small island opposite Nydri, on the south-eastern coast.
